App Favorites: My Go-to Apps Right Now

Hello loves! I know  it’s been a while since I last posted,  as usual, I hope everybody’s great! Today, I am going to share the apps that I am completely crazy about. Not to mention that couldn’t go on a day without any of them.

InstaMini: Instant Camera, RetroCam

If you are following me on Instagram or anywhere on social media, you might know that I am a full blown vintage lover. Yes, from head to toe. I live for everything that is classic, old and well, vintage!!! I’ve always wanted to own an authentic Polaroid camera but I don’t seem to find one these days. But of course, technology has taken over the world, I’ve recently discovered this app on Google Play.  I swear it really feels like I own an instant camera only in a form of an app. It’s really amazing! Here’s a couple of screenshots I’ve taken from the app.

The first time you open the app, this is the first thing that you will see. From this selection, I’ve chosen the InstaMini 1977.

Each camera has it’s own description. It tells you what your photos would look like with a specific camera. My personal favorites are the InstaMini 1977 & the CandyMini 2017.

This is a sample shot of what it would look like when you choose a camera. It does feel like having it for real, right? It also shows how many film you have left, the shutter, the viewfinder and so on.

I didn’t manage to screenshot what happens after you’ve taken a photo though, I must say that it’s THE BEST PART EVER! Why? Because after you’ve taken your photo, the app tells you to shake your phone & voila.. your photo is developed, that’s exactly how Polaroid camera works right?

Of course this app wouldn’t be complete without the frames. It has tons of frames that you can actually choose from. They’re just the cutest!

The app also offers premium monthly/yearly, or if you just want to add more film, which could be 20 or 50 films. Now, I wouldn’t purchase anything just yet because I still have an ample amount of film & I am just loving the app itself! ❤️ I mainly use this app to take photos of my daughter & post it either on my Instagram stories or on my Tumblr.

Polaroid FX.

Well, as you can see it’s like an InstaMini app twin! I’ve also discovered this app not long ago.

The app lets you choose which film you want to use on your photo.

Which texture would you like.

And of course, filters!!!!

Last but not the least, you can add a text on your Polaroids!

This app is pretty much the same with InstaMini, only there’s no fancy retro cameras. You can take your photos through the app or import some of your photos from your phone’s camera roll.

UnFold

This next app, is what I mainly use for my Instagram stories & also for some of the photos that I post on Tumblr. I discovered this app through my ultimate idol & girl crush for life, Camie Juan.

On a side note, I think most bloggers/vloggers that I follow on Instagram, use this app too. I guess you might have really heard about this app.

What I really love about this app is that it’s so easy to use, it’s not that complicated. You can choose from different layouts that suits your taste. You can organize your pages through folders as well. You can add text with different fonts too. Plus it looks like a magazine, which I am completely down for!

VSCO/VSCO X

I think it’s pretty obvious that there is only one photo-editing app for me and that’s definitely, VSCO! And yes, your girl gave in to temptation and purchase VSCO X last month! I just love everything about VSCO X. I’ve been using a lot of filters from VSCO X and it doesn’t fail me at all because my photos looks pretty great.

Here’s a list of my favorite presets both from VSCO/VSCO X & I’ve also included more of the presets which some of you might not be familiar with.

As you can see, I have like numerous favorites. The AU5, is on the top of the list because it has become my go-to filter these days. It’s my pink filter! While the AV8, is what I call the Polaroid-like filter. I also love the KG1 & KG2, because your girl lives for everything vintage!

Even though I have favorites on the VSCO X,  I still edit some of my photos with presets like, 04, A6, A8,  C1, C6, C7, C8, C9, M5, & SE3.

This is a sample photo that I edited with the preset FR4/Fuji Provia 400X. I kind of had a thing for this filter just recently because it accentuates the colors on my photos.

I hope you enjoyed this post! You should definitely check out these apps if you haven’t already or if you haven’t heard anything about them until now. If you have any app suggestions that you think I might like, please do share some of them through the comments!

Til next time,

Mary xo
